Dorset Police has fixed its 101 non-emergency telephone number.
Engineers were looking into the fault, which was reported on Monday, December 30, and worked closely with the service provider to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
The emergency number 999 was not affected. If you, or someone you know is in immediate danger, or you are reporting a crime in progress – dial 999.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “We would like to thank the public for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience the fault may have caused.”
