PLANS for a new Afro-Caribbean themed bar and restaurant have been revealed.
A former bar in the town centre would be brought back into use as a home for the new establishment if plans are approved.
Palladium Bar and Grill in Bradshawgate, which is currently vacant, would be converted into a restaurant and drinking establishment, according to a planning application submitted last week.
A planning statement included in the application also reveals that Sparkle Bar is set to close to enable the relocation.
It said: “The proposal aims to celebrate Afro-Caribbean culture and promote enjoyment and wellbeing for all the community with food and drink, open to the whole of the Bolton family. There are very few places in Bolton that cater for this community.”
The proposed opening times of the new establishment are 10am to 2am from Monday to Thursday as well as Sundays, and 10am to 4am on Saturdays and bank holidays.
Town hall planners are due to make a decision on the application in January.
