WEYMOUTH boss Mark Molesley insisted drawing National League side Barnet away in the FA Trophy first round is a “great tie” for the Terras.
Molesley’s charges advanced from the qualifying rounds with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Hastings United, courtesy of winger Abdulai Baggie’s low second-half strike.
However, Weymouth’s 2-1 exit in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round to National League side Dover has given Molesley unfinished business with teams at that level.
He told Echosport: “That’s a great tie for us, it’s another club for us to pit our wits (against).
“We were bitterly disappointed with Dover, we went 1-0 up and we didn’t have the rub of the green right at the end.
“We were bitterly disappointed we didn’t get to showcase ourselves in the manner we would have liked.
“These boys deserve these types of games and the platform to challenge themselves on because they’ve worked hard and we believe we can give anyone a good game on our day.
“A really tough game awaits us but we’ve got plenty to do before then.”
Weymouth host Hungerford in the Vanarama National League South today (3pm).
