We have been fortunate that this year there is a Sunday X53 bus service returning three times a day between Weymouth and Bridport, because of it being sponsored by a private individual.
For those who rely on buses for transport, this means they can get out and about to enjoy the countryside or visit friends and family.
Please use this bus while it is running until December 22, when the service will cease until the summer timetable, as if we use it, we may not lose it.
By catching these buses, it is possible to enjoy swathes of our glorious coastal countryside without having to take the car, supporting a greener Dorset.
It may be of interest that buses would seem to run between Poundbury and Weymouth approximately every half an hour on a Sunday after 9.30am to 6.30pm, yet Bridport has a limited service and Lyme Regis even less with none.
When offering events at institutions, please be aware of bus times.
