An east Devon-based charity is getting into the Christmas spirit.

Enjoy a range of festive events at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth.

A Christmas fair will be held at the sanctuary this weekend between 10am and 4pm. There will be a range of traders selling gifts, produce and crafts and children will be able to visit Father Christmas in his grotto.

Warming refreshments will be served over the weekend and the East Devon Rock Choir will be singing Christmas songs for everyone to join in with on Saturday between 1pm and 1.30pm.

Entry costs £2.50, which includes entry to the prize draw, and a visit to see Father Christmas costs £4.

On Friday, December 13, thousands of candles will illuminate the centre for the annual Carols by Candlelight evening. Exeter Railway Band will commence proceedings at 4pm with a host of traditional tunes. The carol service will be held surrounded by donkeys from 5pm and is free to attend.

The Adoption Donkey Christmas Stocking Trail gives visitors the opportunity to explore the Sidmouth sanctuary. Follow the trail to find the stockings and discover what each of the nine adoption donkeys are getting for Christmas this year. Claim a present and certificate on competition.

The trail costs £3 and runs from November 23 to January 5.
