FIREFIGHTERS were called to an unusual incident in Weymouth after an escaped bird of prey got caught in a tree.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said that a crew was sent to Windsor Road after a call came in reporting the bird's plight just before midday today.
A spokesman for the fire brigade said: "The bird had escaped from its home and had a chain hanging from its leg, which is what caused the bird to become trapped upside down in the tree.
"Crews freed the bird and put it in a animal carrier and transported to a local vets to be checked over."
