Find Christmas gifts, decorations and raise money for charity at the annual markers’ market this weekend.

Eype Makers’ Market returns for the 13th year, which has now become a popular pre-Christmas event for shoppers.

A spokesman for the event said: “The market was initially set up to raise money for Eype church and local charities from raffle and stallholder fees and its aim was to specifically give local arts and crafts people a place to begin to show and sell their work, especially if they were just starting out.

“This ethos has continued, though the market has expanded, and each year always features new local talent, alongside more established artisans and producers.

“It is the chance to see some of the best new work produced locally and buy some unique and inspiring gifts.”

Eype Makers’ Market is organised and run by volunteers and each year an additional charity is chosen and money raised for them through raffle tickets. Thousands of pounds have been raised over the years for numerous charities, including Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, Poole Hospital, Cancer Research UK, Dorchester scanner appeal, Breakthrough, Prostate Cancer Research, The British Heart Foundation, The Alzheimer’s Society, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, Motor Neurone Disease and the RNLI.

This year’s charity is Dementia Friendly Bridport, which aims to make the town more dementia friendly.

Eype Makers’ Market takes place at Highlands End Holiday Park in Eype, donated by Martin Cox and his family, on Sunday, November 17 from 10am to 4pm.
