The BBC’s fundraising initiative, Children in Need, returns tomorrow with Pudsey bear.

Businesses, schools and community groups across west Dorset are set to show their support and raise money by dressing in spots, hosting cake sales, donning painted faces and more.

The charity is currently supporting 3,000 charities and projects in communities across the UK.

It awards grants at six points during the year and funds two types of grants. The main grants programme is for grants more than £10,000 per year to support projects for up to three years. Meanwhile, the small grants programme supports projects for up to three years and includes grants up to and including £10,000 a year.

Children in Need’s appeal show night will be live on BBC One from 7pm tomorrow (Friday).
