Members of Bridport's Royal Naval Association were celebrated for their service at the branch's annual Trafalgar Dinner last month.
Mike Jones, retiring standard bearer, received three awards including Life Membership, which recognised his long and honourable service to the branch. Other recipients included Ken Burvill and Sue Belsey as well as Malcolm Baldwin, who was honoured with Life Vice Presidency for his 20-year service as chairman of the branch.
The Nelson Trophy was awarded to Chris and Julie Barnes.
The principal guests at the dinner were Commodore Ian Shipperley and his wife, Helen. Chairman Charles Davies presented a display of scale models of various warships, as well as other memorabilia including plaques to be hung in the Sea Cadets HQ.
The Trafalgar church service was held on Sunday, October 20, at St John's Church in West Bay. Attendance was particularly good and standards were paraded by the Royal Naval Association, Bridport Sea Cadets, the Royal British Legion and the Royal Airforce Association.
