A multi-agency search for a missing person was launched late last night.
West Bay Coastguard Rescue was alerted shortly after 10.30pm to reports from police of a missing person, with the coastguard team at Lyme Regis also called to assist.
Coastguards were briefed by police at the station in West Bay before carrying out searches of the surrounding area.
The casualty was found safe and well by police around half an hour into the search.
All officers returned to station where they were stood down.
