DORCHESTER Sports have the “incentive” to become the first Dorset Premier League side to take points off Hamworthy Recreation, according to boss Ashley James.

Rec have won all 10 of their league games so far this season and host Sports at the Hamworthy Club tomorrow (3pm).

Sports possess impressive league form themselves with three victories from their past four games – the only blip coming in a 3-2 loss to Merley Cobham Sports.

James is optimistic his side can obtain a good result from the contest. He said: “They’re the toughest opponents, so we’ll have to be at our best to get a result. The way we’ve played this season we should go there with confidence.

“It’s an incentive and the way we’ve played at Gillingham and Merley and picked up nothing where we’ve deserved something, hopefully this time we can put in the same performance and come away with something.”

Asked what makes Rec such a difficult proposition, James said: “It’s the way they pass the ball through teams and when they get in the pockets.

“It’s so hard to pick them up, they’re always moving. It’s very, very impressive. They’ve got a good defence and they can score goals.

“For an all-round unit, they’re by far the top of the league. We’ll have to be at our best.”

Sports welcome back Darren Watts and Dan Peart, while Jamie Rawlings and Ryan Ross are in contention. Ash Smith and Will Gould miss out.
