You may have noticed something a bit different about one of west Dorset’s iconic landmarks yesterday.
Colmers Hill lit up pink for ‘Wear It Pink,’ one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
By the end of this year, 55,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 11,000 will die from it.
Every year, in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month takes place worldwide to raise awareness, educate and highlight the importance of research.
Sarah McNulty, events manager at Symondsbury Estate, said: “We are so happy to be bringing back a pink Colmers Hill for an important cause. So many people are affected by this terrible disease and we hope this can bring awareness to Bridport and surrounding areas.”
As the sun set Colmers Hill took on a warm pink glow to raise awareness for this important campaign.
Donation boxes are at Symondsbury Estate to raise money for the charity Breast Cancer Now.
