Around 300 riders geared up for this year's Weymouth Beach Motocross.
Although the event was marred by injury when a marshal was hit on the head by a motorbike, racing resumed at around 3pm following a safety briefing.
Crowds watched as racers negotiated the course of jumps and bumps.
Weymouth Beach Motocross first started in 1984 and is now considered to be the biggest amateur event of its kind in the country.
