A charity helping adults learn to read has received a boost.

Read Easy Bridport has been able to produce coasters, leaflets and beer mats, which have been distributed to venues around the town, detailing the work it does.

A spokesperson for Read Easy Bridport said: “We are delighted to announce that Read Easy Bridport has received an award from the National Lottery Community Fund in recognition of the work we do to help adults learn to read.

“We are also hugely grateful to the Bridport Literary Festival for agreeing to donate £2 to Read Easy Bridport on the price of every ticket sold for the Max Hastings talk on November 3.

“Such a welcome boost to our funds will enable us to reach out to and support new readers for the foreseeable future, so we are launching a new initiative this week to let people know about the free, one-to-one help we offer.

“Look out for our new coasters and publicity materials in a variety of venues around the town. If you know someone who needs help to read or wants to get better at reading, tell them about Read Easy and call us today.”
