A dementia charity is set to benefit from a popular brass band concert taking place next month.

The annual Fairey Band concert at St Mary’s Church in Beaminster, organised by Tony and Margaret Greenham, will this year be supporting Remembering Not to Forget.

The charity was set up in Dorset to support people impacted by dementia.

Laura Lombard, co-founder and chairman of Remembering Not to Forget, said: “We are delighted that we have been chosen as this year’s charity.

“Being a Bridport resident myself, it is wonderful that we have local support for an issue which is affecting more and more of us.

“This is an especially apt event as research has shown the importance of music for dementia patients and the positive impact it can have on their memory and general wellbeing.

“I hope to be in attendance at the concert and look forward to meeting supporters and talking more about the work that Remembering Not to Forget does.”

The concert takes place on Saturday, October 19 and tickets are available from the Yarn Barton Centre, the church office Symonds and Sampsons estate agents or by calling 01308 862493.
