A west Dorset brewery will be celebrating 225 years and Cask Ale Week this Saturday.

Palmers Brewery will be hosting a celebration party from 12noon until 4pm, with music from Vinyl Monkeys, a hog roast and food from The Half Moon pub in Melplash, brewery tours and lots of cask real ale and ciders from Dorset Orchards.

Donations on the day will be collected for the Minerva Learning Trust.

Palmers has been brewing in Bridport since 1794, with it gaining the name JC & RH Palmer in the late 19th century after brothers John Cleeves and Robert Henry bought the business.

Space is limited at the brewery and attendance needs to be booked in advance. You can book through your nearest Palmers pub, call the brewery on 01308 422396 or email party@palmersbrewery.com.

During Cask Ale Week, which runs until September 29, pubs, breweries and CAMRA branches host a number of events, competitions and festivals.
