A MAN was taken to hospital with head injures and a fractured cheek after being punched during a town centre street attack.
The victim, a man in his 20s from Berkshire, was walking along Glen Fern Road, Bournemouth, with two other men in the early hours on Sunday.
Detectives say the trio was approached by another man who was said to be "acting aggressively."
This man punched the victim to the head, causing him to fall back and strike his head on the pavement.
Detective Constable Thomas Norman, of Bournemouth CID, said: "This assault has left the victim with significant injuries and we are determined to identify the man responsible.
"I understand there were a number of other people in the area at the time and I would urge anyone who witness what happened and has not already spoken to police, or anyone with information that can assist our investigation, to please contact us."
The attack took place around 3.10am on September 22.
