Two people thought to be part of "group of professional beggars" were moved on by police.
Officers in Blandford dealt with the two street beggars, of Romanian nationality, in the town centre on Friday. A police spokesman said: "These beggars are suspected of being part of a group of professional beggars working for financial gain. Please carefully consider before giving these beggars money."
The pair were issued with section 35 dispersal notices, banning them from the town for 24 hours.
Residents are being urged to report similar occurences to police on 101.
