A CHEERFULLY painted cruise ship with a face on its bow has sailed into Portland Port.
The 42,289-ton AIDAvita has sailed in from Hamburg in Germany and is visiting for the third time this year.
Besides various stops in the UK, the ship will call at ports in France and Belgium before returning to Germany.
With a maximum capacity of 1,266 people, it is one of the smaller cruise vessels run by German cruise line AIDA Cruises.
Passengers on board can enjoy various entertainment options, such as a theatre with varied shows and sporting-related activities such as a golf simulator and a volleyball court.
For relaxation there are various saunas as well as massage treatments available.
Tomorrow another ship from the AIDA fleet, the AIDACara, is due to arrive, during what is reported to be a record-breaking cruise season for Portland Port.
