Be inspired to live a greener lifestyle when 16 eco-homes open their doors to the public later this month.

Organised by Transition Town Bridport, the homeowners will give visitors an insight into leading a more eco-friendly life and will showcase steps on how they can reduce their carbon footprints.

Some of the homes are older buildings, where low-cost measures have been taken to reduce energy and water, whereas some are newer buildings, with efficiency planned into them. Many of these use traditional low-energy natural materials, like lime render, and others reduce their energy by adopting a more sustainable lifestyle. All are free to visit.

Whether you are planning a new building, improving your current one, or picking up useful tips to cut down fuel bills, you can talk to the people who have learnt from experience.

Each home has different opening times over the weekends of September 14 and 15 and September 21 and 22, and some require prior booking on Eventbrite, tinyurl.com/yyp86v2g.
