A west Dorset care home has raised more than £1,300 for charity.

Fairfield House in Lyme Regis has a stall at the Melplash Agricultural Show each year to raise money for charity.

This year, staff chose the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, which will receive £1,350.65.

April Robinson, receptionist at Fairfield House and event organiser for this event, said: “A massive thank you to everyone that supported and donated for this year’s show.

“We are delighted to announce the total raised for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is £1,350.65.”

The team at the home would like to thank Toad Hall Cottages for donating a £250 holiday voucher for first prize in the raffle, the Royal Oak, The Bank House Café and Herringbone in Charmouth, as well as The Shed Hair and Beauty and Colmers Hill Fashion for all selling raffle tickets prior to the event, and Morgans of Charmouth for allowing them to sell tickets outside the premises for the last two Mondays before the show.

Staff at Fairfield House would also like to thank Seaton Tramway, Manor Farm bar and takeaway, Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Framptons of Bridport, Soulshine Café, Windy Corner Café, Annie’s Tea Rooms, Freshwater Beach Holiday Park, Ferne Animal Sanctuary, Bridport Leisure Centre, The Royal Lion Hotel, Lyme Bay Winery, A Touch of Vintage, Sandworld, Pecorama, Eagle Autos, Moores Biscuits, Morrisons, Coffee #1, The Town Mill, Alexandra Hotel and Restaurant, Lavender Blue, Leakers Bakery, CLH Group and many more for tombola donations.

“I would also like to take this opportunity of thanking Fairfield House staff for their time and enthusiasm in creating such positive community spirit in their fundraising efforts for such a worthy cause.”
