MARK Molesley admitted it felt like two points dropped after his Weymouth side drew 1-1 at Tonbridge Angels in the Vanarama National League South.

Brett Williams had put the Terras ahead after 49 minutes, but an Adam Yusuff penalty denied the Terras all three points.

The Angels had two penalties, one saved by Weymouth goalkeeper Callum Ward, but he could not stop the second, which had to be retaken.

When asked if he felt like it was two points dropped, Molesley told Echosport: “Yes I think so, there was a real opportunity missed for us, it was a nice pitch, everything was set up to suit us, we had a lot of possession but we did not really make enough chances and ultimately paid the price for that.”

Molesley also made reference to the two penalty decisions, saying: “Two debatable penalty decisions again, it seems to be the story of our season. We are not quite getting the rub of the green on that.

“At the same time we are giving referees decisions to make by the moments that lead up to that always which can be stopped but decisions are to be made by the referee which are not quite going our way at the moment.

“But there is nothing we can do about that, we have to look at ourselves and I do not think we reached the levels that we have set ourselves and we were a bit below par.”

Tonbridge, another one of the sides promoted into the division, were more than a match for Weymouth, and frustrated them in an even first half.

Molesley added: “In this league if you are below par you are going to find it hard to get the win and we could not quite shake them (Tonbridge), we could not quite get clear of them and then you run the risk of losing the goal and that is what happened.

“We are bitterly disappointed. We were below par from our usual standards but it just shows what we standards we have set ourselves and if we don’t reach them then there is no easy game in this league.

“We did not quite stamp our authority on the game that I would have liked, I don’t think we showed the energy and the quality the ball was a bit lacking, which is not often that you say that about us.”
