Smoke filling the groundfloor of a college building sparked an emergency response from fire crews.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 6pm yesterday after the hallways at Weymouth College started to fill with smoke.
Two teams of firefighters from Weymouth and a crew from Portland were sent out to investigate.
They discovered a small fire caused by an electrical inlet in a store cupboard.
No firefighting methods were required, the fire was just isolated and the crews returned to their stations by 6.30pm.
