A woodland area was cordoned off after a potentially explosive device was found.
Police were called to woods near the Beaminster School yesterday afternoon to reports of a possible explosive device having been found.
Officers found a small item in the area shortly before 1.30pm and a bomb disposal team was called in.
A spokesman for Dorset Police says the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team has removed the item, which was not explosive, and will dispose of it accordingly.
