Police arrest suspected prolific shoplifter
Police arrested a suspected shoplifter who had been detained by staff in Weymouth town centre yesterday.
A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police said: “Officers attended reports of a detained shoplifter at a store in New Bond Street at 16.30.
”As a result, a 34-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of a number of suspected shoplifting offences.
”He remains in custody whilst enquiries continue.”
