WASHINGPOOL Farm at Bridport will be allowed to have more touring caravans and motorhomes on its site.
Dorset Council planning officers have agreed the change of use application for a field off its access road.
The permission will allow the farm to extend the numbers of vans, potentially doubling the current number. Its existing use is for up to five touring caravans or motorhomes over 28 days of the year.
Agreement to use the new area, about the size of a football field, will give the farm the potential to take in up to an additional five caravans or motorhomes.
In its application an agent for the company says: “This land use has proved to be a successful form of farm diversification, but there is a demand which exceeds the limited number of pitches presently available….The facilities on offer to touring caravans are basic – namely a firm base on which to station the caravan, a fresh water supply, a waste water emptying point and some electrical hook-up points.”
