People had to be rescued after becoming cut off by the tide between Charmouth and Lyme Regis.

The incident happened yesterday and the Lyme Regis RNLI Lifeboat was launched.

A spokesman for the lifeboat crew has sent a warning after strong winds are expected over the next few days.

It says: “Take care the next few days as strong winds will drive the sea into the cliffs.

“Always check your tide times with Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre or Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre.”
