Organisers have hailed this year’s Musicathon a success as thousands of pounds was raised at the annual event.

Bridport Musicathon took place in June with a day of music making in Bridport United Church, a coffee morning organised by members of Bridport Lions, a charity stall in Bucky Doo Square run by fundraiser Roz Copson, and members of The Living Tree cancer support group making bucket collections.

The event raised £2,420 which will be shared by the two beneficiaries, The Richard Ely Trust for Young Musicians and Dorset County Hospital Charity Chemotherapy Appeal.

Bridport Mayor, Cllr Barry Irvine, will be presenting cheques to Richard Ely from The Richard Ely Trust for Young Musicians and Simon Pearson, head of fundraising for Dorset County Hospital Charity, on Wednesday, August 14 at 11am in Bridport United Church hall.

The presentation will take place during the regular coffee morning at the church hall.

Musicathon performers, supporters and friends are all invited to attend.
