Today will see Weymouth’s ‘best free day out’ return.

AIR 107.2’s ‘Party in the Park’ will feature an afternoon of family-friendly entertainment with live music, a variety of stalls, visual displays, charity events and local food and drinks outlets.

The popular family fun day will take place in the Lodmoor Country Park events ground from 12pm to 7pm and will feature the event’s ‘big giveaway’ at 5.45pm on the main stage – with anyone wearing a £1 orange event wristband entered with a chance to win.

The wristbands are only available on the day from the entrances and the AIR 107.2 merchandise gazebo. Every penny raised goes into this year's and next year's event.

AIR 107.2 is run by volunteers and they don't take any money from funds raised.

First held in 2012, the event has become increasingly popular over the years to the point of being expanded last year, now featuring a newly-designated family area where all of the charities attending will be running activities, as well as a food court.

The weather has traditionally held out for the event and organisers are hoping the same will happen this year, with the weather set to remain partly cloudy throughout the day but it will be warm.

This year’s musical line-up will include The Undecided, Blazin’ Strings, Oasiss, Regulation 9, The Ruff Cutts, The Danny Salamander Band and The Modern Disciples, along with side acts Simon F DJ, Frazer Mitchell DJ, Brown Sauce and Sister Fitness UK.

Organisers would like to thank the event sponsor New Look and all the show advertisers without whom AIR 107.2 would not exist.
