The crash happened near Higher Eype
A four-vehicle crash led to major tailbacks on the A35 between Chideock and Eype.
Police were called to the scene of the crash at 10.58am this morning.
The incident occurred close to Frogmore farm near Applecombe.
A Dorset Police spokesman said although the collision was minor, with no injuries, it lead to "compounded traffic queues in an already snarled-up area."
Congestion is still affecting traffic between Charmouth and Walditch, although the larger tailbacks have now started to clear.
