Early on Monday morning of last week before the streets were properly aired, a town council employee could be seen at the top of an extended ladder painting out the Methodist Church sign in front of the Discovery Centre. If you look closely though you can still make out what the building was formerly used for. The Discovery Centre are organising a series of walks throughout the summer starting at 10.30am today, Thursday. Today's walk will look at the impact of the weather throughout history on West Bay and the coastline. The walk begins at the Centre and costs £3.

Last Tuesday the long established Wynns Fun Fair returned to the field off West Bay Road just to the north of Rise restaurant. Wynns have been coming to West Bay for as long as most people can remember. However, if you remember a time before the fair then please let me know on philipringer@aol.com.

Early on Saturday morning a delivery lorry became stuck on one of the wooden bollards that surround the car park in front of the Bridport Arms. After some careful manoeuvring, all was well apart from a little dented pride.

On Sunday, some 24 pilgrims on the Rector's Ramble attended St. John's West Bay. After some worship and refreshments they then went to meet the residents at nearby Harbour House, where they received a warm welcome. They walked back to Bridport across the meadows for a short service in St. Mary's followed by a well earned cream tea in the Rectory garden.
