The Club House at West Bexington has been given permission for a single storey extension and greenhouse.
The addition will create new toilets for the business to the rear of the existing building with the greenhouse used for producing food for the restaurant. The extension will add about 16 square metres, or around 10 per cent, to the existing site.
An agent applying for the changes told Dorset Council planning officers: “This latest proposal seeks consent for a modest extension to the main building to provide for improved visitor facilities in the building and the construction of a greenhouse to promote the use of fresh ingredients in the restaurant.
“The site is located within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Heritage Coast and as such the setting is considered to be a sensitive one. These proposals have been designed to cause the minimal visual intrusion on this established landscape setting and as such are in accordance with the local plan policies which protect the landscape setting.”
The decision to approve the scheme was granted by a Dorset Council planning officer.
