How depressing to see, yet again, on your front page that there are objections to housing being built in Bridport (Bridport News, June 6).‎

This time it’s in North Allington, where more than a third of the houses will be affordable housing, according to the plans.

However, to quote one councillor, the development would be ‘devastating’. Not so for the families waiting to move into the houses, I think.

On page three we find that the mayor wants to work to make Bridport ‘a vibrant and developing place in which to live’. That won’t happen without new homes.
