Mr Philpot need not worry about Trump or Brexit destroying the incredible D-Day legacy of sacrifice made by American and British soldiers, and the great friendship between the USA and the UK (Bridport News, June 6).
He should remember that the president of the United States is elected democratically by its citizens. And they may elect another president every four years if they are unhappy with the current holder of that office.
Americans have great love of self rule and democracy - they fought the War of Independence to break away from rules and regulations imposed on them from these shores.
Many Americans admire the British people for voting to leave the increasingly interfering rules imposed by unelected Eurocrats.
They admire the desire for Britain to once again be a sovereign nation.
