Police would like to speak to this man and woman following two purse thefts.

CCTV images have been released showing two people believed to be involved in two incidents of theft in Bridport and Wimborne.

Shortly after 3.30pm on May 17, a victim, aged in her 60s and from Romsey in Hampshire, withdrew cash from the ATM outside Nationwide in West Street, Bridport. She went into five charity shops before returning to her car, which was parked on South Street. It was at this point she noticed her purse containing bank cards was missing.

At around 3pm £400 was withdrawn using the victim’s bank card.

Earlier that month, at about 10.20am on May 4, a purse was stolen from a woman, also aged in her 60s, as she shopped in Waitrose on Rowlands Hill in Wimborne.

Sergeant Adam De’Ath, of Dorset Police, said: “CCTV enquiries were carried out in relation to both of these purse thefts and we have identified the same man and woman as suspects.

“I am releasing these images in the hope that someone may be able to help us identify them. I would ask anyone who knows who they are to please contact Dorset Police."

A warning has also been issued for the public to be vigilant.

Sergeant De’Ath added: "Finally, I would like to remind everyone to ensure they keep their bags and handbags zipped up and closed when out and about to avoid becoming a potential victim."
