A RE-WORKED application for 15 affordable homes at Drimpton has been submitted to local planners.

The site, north of 6 Netherhay Lane, includes a new road access to the site.

A decision on the scheme, submitted by the Broadwindsor Group Parish Community Land Trust, is expected to be made by a planning officer rather than come before the local planning committee of elected councillors. Public comments on the application can be made until July 2.

Broadwindsor group parish council held a consultation on the proposals in March 2018 attended by 70 people, at which it says the majority were in favour; although there were concerns about the extra traffic, the loss of some trees and a hedge and potential drainage problems.

Some landscaping and other changes to the original scheme have now been made to take account of the comments.

Some people were also worried at the time of the consultation about two storey houses on the southern side of the site overlooking neighbouring properties although the idea of including some bungalow homes was welcomed.

The application shows four one-bed flats or maisonettes, seven two-bed homes, and four three-bed homes.
