Emergency services were called after a windsurfing board was found washed up on a beach in West Dorset.

The incident happened at 9.12am this morning.

Dorset Police and West Bay Coastguard attended Cogden beach after receiving a telephone call from a concerned member of the public who found the board on the sand.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “The board was recovered by the West Bay Harbour Master and taken to the coastguards storage container for safekeeping and to prevent further calls.

“At this time, we have no reports of any missing windsurfers, but if you think that this windsurfing board might be yours then please contact the HM Coastguard.”
