With a long weekend ahead and plenty of sun on the way, there are plenty of things to do over the late May bank holiday.

Friday should be mainly sunny with highs of 19/20C but the weather will get progressively milder as temperatures drop towards Monday, which is likely to be about 14/15C.

The sun will be out on Saturday morning but cloud cover will grow throughout the day and there is not much chance of sun on Sunday or Monday.

Fayre in the Square will be returning to the town once again.

This year's event, organised Weymouth Rotary Club's will be a celebration of local music and talent, held over the Saturday and Sunday.

with the goal of raising monies for local groups and wider Rotary charities.

Last year it raised over £16,000 for local groups and charities.

This will consist of two days of entertainment along Hope Square and Trinity Road with live bands and street entertainment.

Fayre in the Square is now in it’s fifth year and firmly established as one of the premier events of Weymouth’s annual events programme.

Brewery Square in Dorchester has planned a day of events for the Saturday.

There will be a number of family activities on offer from 11am until 5pm.

The day will bring education shows and entertainment together as well as other family activities, including large garden games, animal meet and greets and face painting.

The day will begin with a free show from the team at Mad4Animals and will include an hour long set from popular children’s entertainer Nick Cope at 2pm.

The event will conclude with a silent disco between 4pm and 5pm, and headphones can be rented for £2 per pair.

All money raised from the silent disco and other activities at the event will be donated to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital

More live music will be on offer at Rendezvous in Weymouth as the Quayside Music Festival returns once again.

Local bands will be playing from 12.30pm on Saturday and Sunday until late evening.

The Nothe Fort in Weymouth is hosting a 'Home Front' family weekend on Saturday and Sunday, between 11am-4.30pm.

This is an opportunity to learn about how life was in our country during the Second World War.

Take part in the ‘Evacuee Experience’ with Nothe Fort guides, visiting areas of the fort not normally open to the public.

The Weymouth at War exhibition and D-Day displays will provide an insight into life in Dorset during the days of the Blitz and the D-Day landings.

Take part in traditional games including the coconut shy and roll a penny.

Visitors are encouraged to dress 1940’s style.

Here's one for the children to get excited about, the South West Inflatable Theme Park is coming to Dorset for the first time.

The park will come to Redlands Community Sports Hub in Weymouth on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Session times on each of the days are, 10am-12pm, 12.30pm-2.30pm and 3pm-5pm.

For £6 per child, they will receive unlimited access to 10 large inflatables, a visit from Mickey and Minnie mouse and face painting.

Food and drink will be available on site and adults and there is also a small children's area for the really little ones.
