A public meeting is being held tonight to discuss solutions to the shortage of affordable housing for Weymouth residents.

Weymouth Area Development Trust is hosting an evening about Community Land Trusts and how they have helped other villages and coastal towns.

Chris Wilson, from the community led Weymouth Area Development Trust, said: “There is a way the community of Weymouth can get involved in finding a solution to the lack of affordable homes locally.

“Community Land Trusts have been used all over the country, from small villages to London. So maybe it could be part of a solution in our town? We are asking the people who live here, and who are interested in homes for local people to attend the meeting to find out what Community Land Trusts are and what a Weymouth Community Land Trust could achieve.”

The meeting is at The Lantern, 2 Queen Street ,Weymouth at 6.30pm.
