A popular charity entertainment event is gearing up for its annual show.

The Rotary Club of Weymouth’s Fayre in the Square 2019 will offer a range of activities including musical performances and food stalls in and around Hope Square in Weymouth.

The event, which will happen on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26, is set to feature a line up of musical artists including Danny Adams, Darron Garnett, WOW, Silhouettes and Total Madness.

The musical acts will run on the live band stage from 10.30am until 6pm on both days.

This will also include a ‘new band section’ where local artists can perform.

People can also watch out for the event’s mascot – Fitsy Bear – who will walk around the area throughout the weekend.

Pilgrim House will serve as the headquarters for the weekend, where people can get food and drinks while the kids enjoy activities at a free craft area.

The Rotary Club itself will also feature a Thatchers Cider Bar and Tolchards Prosecco.

There will be around forty stalls in town over the weekend, which will showcase an array of food and goods.

These stalls will be located from Town Bridge to Hope Square.

Weymouth Inner Wheel will also run a Tombola, where there are over 500 prizes to be won.

Waterside Parks is a major sponsor for the event and will offer the opportunity to see one of their latest holiday homes.

This is the sixth year of the Fayre in the Square.

A spokesman for the event said: “We are once again grateful to all of our sponsors and supporters.

“Of course, the success always depends upon the ultimate support of locals and visitors to Weymouth.

“As ever, we thank all of the performers who so selflessly give up their time at no charge to ensure the event succeeds.”

The event is open from 10am until 6pm each day, and entry is free of charge.

All proceeds will go to charity, and the event has raised over £16,000 in previous years.

Any charity wishing to put itself forward for consideration to receive donations can write to Pilgrim House, Hope Square or email pilgrimhousetrust@hotmail.co.uk

Applications must be made by Monday, June 3.
