A company has apologised after more than 1,500 homes and businesses were hit by power cuts.
Those living and working in Bridport and its surrounding parishes experienced short, frequent power outages on Saturday night.
About 1,592 people were affected by the power cuts shortly before 8.30pm.
A spokesman for Western Power Distribution said: "We managed to remotely switch around 900 customers to an alternative power supply.
"Unfortunately, for the remainder, we had to send our guys out to visit, but power was back on for these customers at 10.05pm."
The company has since found out the cause of the problem - a fault in a sub station in the North Allington area.
The spokesman added: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
