IT’S fair to say, the recent election results were rather disappointing for the Conservative party here in Bridport.
It was a pity (although understandably so) that some loyal Conservative voters decided not to vote, or vote for an alternative party, as a protest against the Government and parliament’s performance during the Brexit negotiations, instead of perhaps focusing on the more local issues.
I do share and have empathy for their frustrations over the antics of parliament and of the many promises broken over the past three years.
However, with that said, I would sincerely like to thank all of those in the Bridport Ward who have given me their support during these and past elections, which allowed me to ‘do my bit’ for the town and local areas.
