Enjoy the highlights and best bits of a traditional country fair in a west Dorset village.

The team at Symondsbury Estate will be holding their first County Fair next week, a fun day out for all the family.

The event will give visitors the opportunity to explore the many stalls of local produce, crafts, gifts and more throughout Manor Yard and enjoy a range of food and drink at the cafe, ice creams and a barbecue.

Throughout the day, there will also be a range of family-friendly activities, including get up close to creepy crawlies with World Life Conservation, lamb feeding, traditional fair games and a bouncy castle.

On the day children can see Strawberry Jam’s children’s show, the whole family can enjoy all-day live music, morris dancing opening the fair in the morning and the thrilling Xtreme Falconry display.

Sarah McNulty, events manager at Symondsbury Estate, said: “We are really looking forward to our first country fair.

“We have lots to see and do, including traditional games, falconry displays, an interactive wildlife corner by World Life Conservation, Punch and Judy, bouncy castles and lots of shopping opportunities.

“It will be a fun, family friendly atmosphere with music, entertainment and of course, food and drink.

“It is free entry and plenty of car parking.

“Come along and join in the fun - see you there.”

Symondsbury Country Fair will take place on Saturday, May 18 from 11am to 4pm at manor Yard in Symondsbury Estate.

There is free parking and free entry and visitors are asked to enter the event by following signs to the country fair and marshals. Dogs are welcome.
