FIREARMS, cash and suspected drugs have been seized by police following a series of raids.

A joint operation between forces in Dorset and Devon and Cornwall, involving more than 40 officers and separate firearms teams, saw warrants executed at six addresses in Charmouth and Axminster.

Searches of the premises took place on Tuesday and money, firearms and a large quantity of suspected drugs were seized.

A 62-year-old man from Axminster was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and possession of a firearm and has been released under investigation.

Two men, aged 19 and 34 and from Charmouth, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and have been released under police investigation.

A 49-year-old man from Axminster was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply and possession of a firearm. He has been bailed until May 28.
