If you're not one for Easter egg hunts, we've compiled a list of great events happening across the area over this four-day weekend.

FRIDAY, APRIL 19

  • The ‘Warm Beer and Cabbages’ exhibition at West Bay Discovery Centre opens today until June 23 from 11am to 4pm. The exhibition commemorates the 75th anniversary of D-Day and remembers when West Bay became home to the American soldiers training for the D-Day landings.   • Bridport Art Society’s Easter exhibition at the Salt House will be open from 10am to 5pm. There will be original artwork from members with prints and cards for sale. Admission is free.
  • The Fat Marrow Blues Band come to The Ropemakers pub at 9.15pm, playing jazzy rhythms and blues with a feel-good factor. They find inspiration in traditional blues music and update and embellish it with brass, harmonica and sparkling guitar to create a fantastic sound.
  • The Lyme Regis branch of the Royal British Legion will be hosting a bric-a-brac stall at The Shelters on Marine Parade from 10am to 3.30pm. Proceeds will go towards the branch’s funds, the Poppy Appeal and the RNLI.
  • The Stones, the UK’s number one and most authentic tribute to The Rolling Stones, will be bringin all the hits to the Marine Theatre’s stage in Lyme Regis. Tickets cost £12 in advance from www.marinetheatre.com or £14 on the door. The bar opens at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.

SATURDAY, APRIL 20

  • Bridport Community Fridge is celebrating a year of success at the Chapel in the Garden. Pop along between 10am and 12noon for a cup of tea and homemade cake.
  • Kent-based Davey Malone, front man of Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs, takes to the stage at The Ropemakers at 9.15pm with some special guests. Expect the unexpected, unconventional and unexpurgated with special guests Joh D Revelator and Skeg.
  • Visit Strangeways Village Hall in Abbotsbury for a craft fair between 10am and 2pm.
  • Lyme Regis Comedy Club welcomes Chris McCausland as its headliner, with resident compere Tom Glover. Tickets cost £8 in advance at www.marinetheatre.com or £10 on the door. It starts at 8pm.

SUNDAY, APRIL 21

  • Enjoy a pop-up vegan thali three-course meal at Soulshine café for £20 from 7.30pm. Places are limited to 30 and to book call 07900 667041.
  • James Hollingsworth will be at The Ropemakers from 4pm. He has a passionate voice and unique, complex acoustic guitar finger-style, fusing elements of folk, blues, trance, metal and psychedelic rock.
  • Lyme Regis’ annual Easter Bonnet Parade takes place from the Baptist Church. Residents and visitors can make an Easter bonnet or just enjoy the spectacle of people in the parade through town showcasing their creations.

Easter bonnets will be judged in the Baptist Church by Lyme Regis author, Georgia Hill, from 2pm on the day.

The parade will start at the church at 3pm, led by Lyme Regis mayor, Cllr Michaela Ellis, and finishing at the Jubilee Pavilion on the seafront.

Prizes will be given in five age groups, as well as those for ladies and gentlemen, and special prizes for the best under five entry. The ‘Treetops Cup’ will be presented to the best entry overall.

MONDAY, APRIL 22

  • Search for a range of antiques and vintage clothing, accessories, linens, fabrics, books and more at Charmouth Vintage Fair at St Andrew’s Community Hall, Lower Sea Lane, from 10am to 4pm.
  • The annual Lyme Regis duck race starts from Windsor Terrace, at the bottom of Woodmead Road, from 12noon. Ducks will be available from 11.30am
