A quirky festival which draws in villagers and visitors alike will return - and is looking for ideas to impress.

The annual Loders and Uploders Scarecrow Festival returns to the two villages from May 18 to June 1 with the theme ‘Jack of all Trades’.

Villagers are being encouraged to think now about ideas for their scarecrows, as organisers urge them to start planning this year's entries.

Those who don’t live in the village can still be involved in the event, which is a great spectacle to go and see and gives residents the chance to vote for their favourite.

More details on the festival and events in the villages will be posted nearer the time on the Loders and Uploders Facebook page.

Last yea's theme was films, with entries including ET, Gene Kelly of Singin’ in the Rain, Yoda from Star Wars, Cruella de Vil, Mary Poppins and many more - take a look through our gallery.
