FOODIES can tickle their tastebuds at a fair celebrating local produce.

The first Dorset Food and Drink food fair of the season will take place at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens this weekend.

The event celebrates distinctively Dorset produce. Whether you prefer savoury foods or a sweet treat, there will be plenty to choose from.

Stalls belonging to more than 30 local merchants, all members of Dorset Food and Drink, will showcase the best the area has to offer.

With a range of local produce, from preserves, cheeses, chocolate, artisan bakeries, and great home-grown meats, as well as spirits and wines – many of them widely acclaimed and award-winning, organisers say 'you will not want to miss out.'

There will be options for vegetarians, vegans and those who need to avoid gluten.

Entrance to the food fair also allows you to visit the gardens, and guests can stroll around the grounds while enjoying something delicious and listening to some local music.

Alongside the fair, in the pavilion, will be chef demonstrations from many local food and drink talents, including Sally of Sally’s Fish Camp, Rob Scott of Brown Goose Catering and other demos, including cocktail-making.

The food and drink fair will take place at Abbotsbury Gardens this Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

Entry costs £6 per adult and is free for those aged under 16.
