OLD coins and notes, as well as foreign currency, are needed to raise money for various good causes.

Members of the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis have set up collection boxes at the Royal Lion Hotel, Serendip bookshop, Martin Diplock estate agents and Fortnam, Smith and Banwell estate agents in Charmouth for the out-of-date and overseas currency.

Members then sell these coins and notes on eBay and to date they have raised almost £1,000 for local good causes by doing so.

The club is also appealing for used ink jet cartridges, which can be dropped off at Serendip in book shop.

These include undamaged cartridges that have not been refilled made by HP, Dell, Lexmark, Canon, Samsung, Epson, Kodak and Neopost.

These can then be recycled to save them going to landfill.
