A GROUP of avid litter-pickers will be helping to clear a beach they have never operated on before for this year’s Dorset beach clean.

Members of the West Bay Beach Clean Group will take to Eype Beach on Sunday, April 28 as part of the Great Dorset Beach Clean, organised by Litter Free Coast and Sea Dorset.

Joe Hackett, leader of the group, said: “There is often quite a lot of plastic litter at Eype Beach, which we haven’t cleaned before, but I will be warning people to stay clear of the cliffs which are dangerous.”

The group would normally be hosting a clean at West Bay on West Beach for the Great Dorset Beach Clean, but due to sea defence works, the group cannot access the beach.

Joe added: “We will be back there later in the summer.

“Newcomers will be welcome to join our group. Come along, wear stout shoes and bring your own gloves if possible.”

The group will assemble at the car park at Eype Beach from 11am on April 28.
