EVERYONE is welcome to attend the Bridport Community Orchard work party to keep the green space looking good and get it ready for spring.
Jobs this month will include the cutting of grass, maintenance of the fruit trees, the collection of spent hops from Palmers Brewery to use as a mulch for the fruit trees, the construction of a beach adjacent to the pond, weeding of the flower beds, hedge pruning, compost management and some practical tasks such as the installation of water butts and the applying of a non-slip surface to the pond dipping decking.
The work party takes place on Sunday, March 10 from 10am at the orchard behind St Mary’s Church off South Street.
